Lucas Batista received his undergraduate (2007 - B.Sc.) and graduate (2009 - M.Sc. and 2011 - D.Sc.) education in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, with a one-year term of his Ph.D. spent at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. He is currently an assistant professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering at UFMG, where he is a member of the Optimization and Computer-Aided Design Group (GOPAC) and a founding member of ORCS Lab.
Prof. Batista is mainly involved with the undergraduate courses on Electrical, Systems, and Control and Automation Engineering; and with the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering (PPGEE/UFMG). His main research interests are in optimization, computational intelligence, evolutionary computation and decision theory.
